Two New Members Join Utah Arts Council Board

Victoria Rowe Berry, Director of the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art at Utah State University, and Andrew Yarosh, Director of the Moab Music Festival, will join the Utah Arts Council Board of Directors effective immediately. Berry and Yarosh were confirmed by the Utah State Senate on October 15, 2008 and joined the board for their first meeting on November 6, 2008.

Interiors Now Open at the Alice Gallery

The new exhibition, Interiors: Paintings from the State Fine Art Collection, is now open in the Utah Arts Council’s Alice Merrill Horne Gallery at the Glendinning Home in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Director of Sorenson Education Program Announced

Janet Wolf, former Director of Youth and Family Programs for Salt Lake City and creator of the Salt Lake’s popular YouthCity programs, is now the Director of Arts Education Initiatives at the Utah Arts Council. In her new position, Wolf becomes the statewide program coordinator and primary contact for the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program (BTSALP). Additionally, Wolf assumes the role of liaison between the member organizations of the Sorenson program’s operating alliance, the Utah Arts Education Partnership (UAEP).

Smithsonian Curator to Judge Competition

The Utah Arts Council is pleased to announce Kristen Hileman, Associate Curator of the Smithsonian Institution’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, will jury the 2009 Visual Art Fellowship Program.
